03.3 Development
AppDevelopment.
01 / 04Most businesses already run on an app. It is called FINAL_v7.xlsx.
02 / 04It works, until two people edit it, or someone is out of the office.
03 / 04So we turn the rows into a tool built around how you actually work.
04 / 04Same data. Now on every phone, with a history of who did what.

What it is
Software shaped like your business.
Custom app development means building software for the way your business actually works: internal tools, client portals, dashboards and mobile-friendly apps that replace spreadsheets, email chains and copy-paste.
Off-the-shelf software is often the right answer, and we will say so. Custom makes sense when your process is what makes you different, when the tools you tried force a workflow that does not fit, or when several systems need to work as one.
We build web apps that run in the browser and install on phones as progressive web apps, so one codebase serves the office and the field. They connect to what you already use through APIs. AI can help write code faster; it cannot decide what your business needs. We wrote about that in vibe coding and developers.
Honest test
Do you need an app, or a better spreadsheet?
Not every spreadsheet should become software. Tick what is true for yours and see what we would honestly recommend.
What we build
Six kinds of apps we build most.
Job tracking, inventory, scheduling, approvals: the daily work of your team, in one place with a history.
A place where clients see their orders, documents, invoices and progress without emailing you.
The numbers that run the business, pulled live from your systems instead of a monthly export.
Progressive web apps your team installs on any phone, with offline-friendly forms and photos.
When a business is built around reservations, rentals or schedules, see booking and payments.
Drafting, classifying and summarising inside your own workflow, with your data kept under control.
Build or buy
The question we ask first.
We will recommend an existing product whenever it fits. Here is how we decide.
Version one
What the first version always includes.
Small does not mean fragile. Every first version we ship has these foundations, so it can grow without being rebuilt.
- One core workflow. The task that costs the most time today, done well, end to end.
- Login and roles. Who can see what, and who can change what, from day one.
- Works on a phone. Installable, readable and usable with one hand in the field.
- History. Who changed what and when, so “who did this?” has an answer.
- Import and export. Your existing data brought in, and always available to take out.
- Notifications. The right person told at the right moment, by email or push.
- Backups. Automatic and restorable, before the first real record is entered.
- A help page. Short, written for the people using it, updated as it grows.
How we work
Start small, use it early.
The fastest way to a good app is a small one in real hands. You get a clear timeline before we start.
Discover
We watch how the work happens today, map the data and agree on the smallest version that would make a real difference.
Prototype
A clickable prototype tested with the people who will use it, before any code.
Build the core
The first working version on a staging server, used by a few people for real work.
Grow
Feedback, fixes and the next features, in short cycles, with your data safe throughout.
Under the hood
Built to be maintained, not admired.
Proven technology, documented code and a repository you own.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
What kind of apps do you build?
Web applications: internal tools, client portals, dashboards and progressive web apps that work on desktop and phone from one codebase.
Do you build native iOS and Android apps?
Most business tools do not need a native app. Progressive web apps install on phones, work offline in many cases and cost far less to maintain. If you truly need native features, we will tell you and plan for it.
Should we buy software instead?
Often, yes. If an existing product fits your process, it is usually cheaper. We recommend custom only when your process is different enough to justify it.
How do you keep our data safe?
Role-based access, encrypted connections, audit logs, automated backups and security updates. Personal data is handled according to GDPR.
Can it connect to our ERP, CRM or accounting software?
Yes, through their APIs. Integration is usually planned from day one.
Who owns the app?
You do: the code, the data and the repository.
How long does an app take to build?
We start with a small first version that solves one real problem, then grow it. You get a clear timeline before we start.
How much does a custom app cost?
It depends on scope. We often start with a small, fixed first version so you see value early. After a short call we send a transparent proposal.
